About the Landscapes

After about 35 years of painting cityscapes, I was ready for a quieter life. So I moved up here to the foothills of Northern California. What I naively thought would be an easy transition turned out to be more like stepping off of a cliff. I thought I knew how to paint anything. But when I faced this tangled and multicolored mountain country, I had to admit, to my great embarrassment that I didn't know what the hell I was doing. (I painted a huge pile of duds before I got to the paintings in this group, but I won't punish you with them.) What can I say? I'm learning.
